To promote, preserve, and support the Humboldt Civil Grand Jury system through training, education, and outreach.
To provide the public of Humboldt County with informational and educational materials and activities on the California Civil Grand Jury system to increase awareness of the valuable role the grand jury plays in democratic governance.
To support comprehensive training and orientation for all new civil grand jurors serving in Humboldt County.
To advocate for adequate funding, office and meeting facilities, and other resources necessary for the Humboldt County Civil Grand Jury to fulfill its lawful duties effectively.
To promote the preservation of all Humboldt County Civil Grand Jury reports, both locally and in publicly accessible archives, for use by residents, historians, scholars, students, and researchers.
To encourage the publication of all Humboldt County Civil Grand Jury reports and official responses through local newspapers or other widely accessible media, to educate the public about investigative findings, recommendations, and responses.
To promote the inclusion of information about the role of the Humboldt Civil Grand Jury in civics, social studies, and history education within Humboldt County schools.
To publish a local informational newsletter providing current updates on civil grand jury-related issues, events, and activities in Humboldt County.
To participate in regional and statewide efforts, including conferences and forums, that strengthen the civil grand jury system and promote best practices.
To support other activities consistent with these goals that promote public understanding of the civil grand jury system.
